This stool was made out of found material where the task was to create a functioning chair using only found material. I chose to work with metal pipes since I wanted to challenge myself using the bent structures that I could not resize or rework much due to lack of equipment. This meant experimenting with how the structures could support each other and interlock to create a stable structure without much other support.
The way the stool is functioning is that the back piece is pressed towards the wall by the pipes when weight is put upon it. This means when someone sits down the stool becomes more stable than on its own. The seat is weaved together in order to make it more durable. Even though the result could be improved aesthetically, the challenge was very developing in terms of getting to know a material though making and solving problems with limited resources.
